Benin bronze Head. This is a replica of the famous
Benin bronzes, from the kingdom of Benin in West Africa.
This sculpture is of a King. The style at the time portrayed the
King as a supernatural being. The head gear was made of coral, same with
the neck region... all adorned in coral, which he supposedly got from
his visit to the goddess of the sea.
This sculpture is about 3 months old, but has been exposed to some patination processes and it keeps getting aged by the day.
