Gooseneck barnacles are those brave creatures that live in the tide pools between the ocean waves and the shore. They have to survive periods of both extreme wet and dry. Abundant on the Pacific Coast of California, they are small, about 2" high, and number in the millions. They grow in the tide pools and on the shore rocks and even on other shells. They symbolize to me surviving good times and bad times, and adapting to change.
Beautiful closeup watercolor of seashell from the California coast, with other sealife growing on it. Drawn and painted from the original shell, not from a photo.
Paper prints and giclees available. (Original NFS)
