This is one of the rare works in which I have chosen to use a strobe-light. It seems to be appropriate here in that it emphasize the graphic and symetry of the image with a directness. This was made within weeks of his passing (1979) at a retrospective of his works at the International Center of Photography, New York City, while signing a cataloge of his works. One of his photo-accomplishments, and they were numerous, that many remember is his more than 100 'Life' magazine covers. His work with the beguiling Salvatore Dali and his 'Jump' series are also near the top of that list. It was, without question, an honor to have met and worked with he and his collaborator of some 42 years, his lovely wife Yvonne.
