INCARNATION: The difference between Incarnation and re-incarnation is that incarnation is the beginning of life; it is that magical moment when divine intervention initiated the spark of life that keeps us going from the moment of inception, to the day we are born. This initial spark generates for approximately nine months and continues up to the day when, either the heart stops beating, or at the time oxygen ceases to reach the brain. Hitherto, our life, throughout this entire life cycle has ingratiated our existence within both the physical and spiritual realms.
RE-INCARNATION, on the other hand, is that opportune moment in time when the eternal spirit (the spirit that never dies) chooses to select the ideal host, while synchronizing the perfect timing for regeneration, ideally to become born again with some higher form of enlightened development.
It is well known throughout the art world that Edward Longo's artistic calling has consisted of similarities of that famous Man of La Mancha theme song: To "Dream The Impossible Dream." Yes, this master artist has never given up his quest to remain an influential and spiritual inspiration to those seeking the true meaning of life, irrespective of monetary compensation, or financial status.
INCARNATION - The actual creation of the painting: After selecting the perfect fiberboard Mr. Longo connects to the spiritual realm and focuses on initiating the energy from the source of its creative processes. During this particular creative work, the artist patiently paints a brown coating to serve as a rich, earthly background; next, and without conscious deliberation, he begins creating geometrical forms and symbols using various colors. Then, through some unconscious, obviously divine intervention, he begins drawing in some supernatural touches, such as the circle, and the crucifix. Finally he signs his name beginning with his last name, then circling back to add his first name to complete his unique signature.
The Actual Painting: Oil and Acrylic on fiberboard panel encased in metal frame. Painting created during the month of November, 1987. Framed in a simple chrome / metal frame.
