Name: Andy Kuruzar (pronounced 'Kruzer')
Born: 1969
Media: giclée printing, photography, oils on canvas and wood sculpture.
After two years traveling Europe and Africa Andy Kuruzar returned to the United States, earning his Fine Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1993. Over ten years in the field of design and fine art, he's established a reputation for excellence, validated by many awards.
The term giclée originated in 1991 and its derivation comes from the word "gicleur", the French word for "nozzle". The main intention of the word "giclée" was to distinguish fine art prints from those created for strictly commercial purposes. To date most giclées have been created with inkjet technology, a method which has grown in both access and complexity over the past fifteen years. Andy has been practicing this art form as an artist and technician for the last decade and ranks among the American Midwest's foremost authorities.
An avid outdoorsman, Andrew Kuruzar specializes in coldwater, warmwater, and saltwater aquatic species illustration and fine art prints as well as Midwestern landscapes. He has often been known to deviate into contemporary semi-historical and portrait works. Andy can be reached directly at p40design.com and happily accepts commissions or even just conversation regarding his works and techniques.
