Focusing upon the seat of the soul, this work revolves around the subject's eyes which juxtapose with the blue hues found in the flowers she held. Technically, lighting in this portrait was crucial which had to closely work together with tonality and color, especially in regard to her golden hair. The work has symbolic meaning but it will be left to the viewer to discover his or her own meaning within the work.
