One of several photographic works based on Degas' bronzes of the little ballerina in the National Gallery of Art in Washington. I have tried to bring out the ghostly qualities of this frail and beautiful figure from a world we have lost. In some versions I have created her a doppleganger in different colours These works have a deliberately Gothic Victorian appearance.
