This passenger/cargo vessel was built in 1950, and ran between Shetland and Leith from that time until the around 1970, when she was sold to Canadian owners for further trading. She was owned by the North of Scotland Orkney and Shetland Steam Navigation Company. She is pictured just after leaving Lerwick, with the 500ft sheer cliff of Ord Head, and the lower Bard Head, features of the island of Bressay, in the background.
