This series represents the fragmentary and fragile qualities of human existence and the way an artist uses her/his art to stave off ruin. The title and concept is taken from corruption of a line in T. S. Eliot's Wasteland: "These Fragments I Have Shored against My Ruins" ("The Wasteland," 431)
