Seller Comments... I painted Tattooed by Numbers in 1997, and even now I look at that image with respect and awe. It brings back emotions and memories of when I envisioned it for the first time. The painting has a certain degree of meticulousness and refinement; I clearly remember the delight I felt when painting the details of the mannequin’s Middle Ages-style hair cut. The night is a warm black and green, saturated with expectancy. The tattooed numbers are an extension of the billiard balls and the mask becomes the clothing. Before falling into the hole, the ball contemplates and continues to weave its mysterious path. This is a game of chance – will he win or lose? Neither victory nor defeat is of consequence.
