I'm a strong supporter of our military and all that it stands for. Without it, I can't imagine where we'd be as a nation.
I had this idea while creating covers for Reminisce Magazine. I liked the dramatic one source lighting in the old dark attic so much it inpsired me to paint two other paintings using the same trunk as the anchoring prop.
This was my nephew at the time who was a great little model for a number of my paintings, able to interpret my ideas perfectly right down to the facial expressions.
