One of a kind, 14k gold earrings with frosted black onyx tongues and cherry red sapphires. These are kind of different for me. I don't usually make this open, and relatively short style of earring. These post back earrings are just under 1 3/4" from top to bottom and 1" at their widest point. I really like the onyx tongues, and how they're set. The sapphires are a beautiful, almost blood red color. (Usually, red sapphires are called rubies, so I'm not sure why these aren't. Maybe because the color is so deep, it might be out of the ruby range.) Of course, you see my favorite little gold leaves at the top. I can't help but add them in a lot of cases. I love them so much! I've engraved my initials and 14k on the back of the leaves on one earring, and "2" (indicating when they were made) and #1 (as there is one pair only) on the back of the onyx setting on the other earring. I like to mix things up sometimes!!
