Medium: steel engraving. Signed in pencil by Anders Zorn and counter-signed in pencil by engraver F. Huth.
This rare engraving (after the painting) was executed in 1891 and published that same year by Robert Dunthorne of London. Dunthorne was an enthusiastic collector and patron of the arts, and it was he who commissioned the original painting in the summer of 1889 (two paintings were commissioned, both of scenes from Zorn's beloved Mora). This beautiful impression (with a platemark) is on Japan style paper. Size: 11 3/4 x 17 3/4 inches (image); 18 x 24 inches (sheet); there is a light mat stain.
A beautiful impression showing rich detail! Zorn was in London at that time; his pencil signature shows that he approved of the work and most likely closely supervised the engraving. It is very rare to find any impression of this work on the market.
