Mario Alberto Gonzalez Prado is a native of Havana, Cuba and a renowned Artist. Trained in Painting, Drawing, Engraving information design and Anthropological photograph. Mario won first prize in painting in 1978 at the Salon XI Festival of young people and students San Antonio de los Banos and in 1989 received an honorable mention for the drawing titled “Tetero Ramos Blanco”. His work is found in various private collections in Cuba as well as other countries such as the United States, Austria, Bahamas, Chile and England. He has participated in a number of international exhibitions: “Traditions”- Event International Anthropology 1992, Center of Anthropology CITIMA. Exhibitions on Religious Themes held in Austria 1998 and sponsored by Fernando Ortiz foundation. Class of Professionals. House of Culture. Artemisia Munilipolicity (1977) the Palace of the Pioneer Ernesto Guarva (1982). Exhibition on Religious Themes and Traditional Culture, Center of of International Tourist Animation. CIATUR.(1999) Mario holds the Distinction by the National Culture (2001) and is the Principle Illustrator of the Atlas of the Musical Instruments, the Principle Illustrator of the Ethnographical Atlas of Cuba (1998) ITMA and Illustrator and Script writer of the CD ROM Ethnographical Atlas of Cuba CITMA.
