I saw this antique peasant doll in the local museum in
Lagos in Portugal: she was sitting behind her husband
on their small horse. I liked her resigned but accepting
expression. The surround is inspired by windows and niches
on the church next to the museum. Look out for her if ever
you go to the Algarve.
