Seller Comments... One of a number of deconstructionist and conceptual pieces based on Leonardo's Gioconda. I am fascinated by the power of this image, and in particular its universal application as a tool of mass art marketing (and more or less any other kind of marketing for that matter). The modern equivalents of art and advertising mega-icons would be Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and Princess Diana. The multiple imagery reinforces the endless reproductions of this masterpiece, but also tries to shed new light on the image itself, as does the addition of the word SMILE.
