This is a lively painting with the entire canvas being full of detail. There is a use of colour to create a mood with certain tones dominating the canvas, such as golds and greens. With these colours comes a sense of comfort in looking at this piece. There also seems to be specific placement of items, as does appear in most of his work; the tree in the foreground frames the painting and hangs over a house which is then set against a backdrop of countryside of colour. This layout leads your eyes on a journey making you an active partaker in the work itself.
