This painting was to reflect on downhill skiing were the challenge is to use speed and balance to master a variety of conditions presented by the course. The painting shows the dramatic balancing of a skier as they encounter soft powder. The painting includes the glare of a sunny afternoon as a bright sky and plenty of fresh powder flies into the air. This setting nicely contrasts the orange/yellow ski suit painted in heavier, more abstract brushstrokes in relaying the essence of movement.
