The painting was to capture a unique mood and atmosphere of windsurfing on the rough water following an earlier storm giving way to the day’s sunset. The painting was done in a limited color palette with particular attention to the soft yellow afterglow of a setting sun. I emphasized the windy conditions in the water’s surf and even the angularity of the clouds to the sail itself.
