The concept behind this painting was to capture the attitude and spirit of snow boarding- which is part daredevil and improvisation. I painted the athlete at the pinnacle of their ascent while throwing an arm out for balance and flair. The painting palette used brighter but smeared colors to follow a left slant of movement to the snow boarder’s extended hand.
