Nature has always served as a muse for artist Mike Klung. Raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Klung spent countless hours as a child exploring the woods. It was the love of this quiet, reflective scenery that eventually drew him to create art. Mike's paintings create a sense of tranquility and whimsy, with shrubs and trees that feel sculpted. Painting in layers of blues, oranges and brilliant reds, Mike builds a subtlety of juxtaposed colors that emerge as the light plays on the paintings three dimension surface. Working in on a variety of surfaces such as brush sheet metal, canvas and plexi glass Mike has developed a truly unique body of contemporary landscapes.
