Seller Comments... Mary wanted to show the natural beauty of the women selling peaches at a fruit stand and the interaction between the woman and the man purchasing some fresh peaches. She said decided the texture and color of the peaches in the boxes appealing and placing supporting trees and boxes stacked in the background would bring the viewer back to the women selling the peaches. The burlap contributes to the country feeling in this painting.
