'2 BIG' 08: Life being as exagggerated as these times, I don't have to work very hard to come up with a cartoon…the air is rife with them. While it is primarily reported that Ford, Chrysler and General Motors are asking for 25 billion American tax dollars, what is lesser reported is that both houses in Washington have already given a green light to a 25 billion dollar grant to the automotive industry for R & D for technologic advancement. Isn't this, in large measure, why they are unable to compete with more 'green' products being produced outside America and being sold to Americans? My math indicates that this combination of grant and request is 50 billion dollars. Seems when the automotive industry talks about a 'greening' of of their products, they mean the green of money not that of the ecologic variety. This graphic has been printed on stickers, so if you are in the Lower East Side of Manhattan (or where ever my travels take me), you'll see them posted.
