'CiA logo design' 09: The center piece of the CIA is the collection of information and in the words of its' most ardent critics over weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and "connecting the dots". Since deception is also an element in these acts of collection, it is not always what is apparent but at times what is not that is of equal import in assessing the info collected. Given this task of info collection a primary skill set in being able to "connect the dots" is a high level of visual literacy in concert with strong analytical thinking abilities. This design is intended to lessen the officious, authoritarian, and at times, intimidating image this arm of governance project. As the previous description of traits necessary to undertake these tasks of information gathering, so follow these same characteristics in the visual qualities of this logo design, ie. the pixel form that also serve as the dot over the implied i (90% unstated) reference digital technologies used in data collection. This work is made in the spirit of "change" in the way America projects its' image across the planet.
All materials, techniques and pigments used in producing this print are archival and in line with museum protocols. Print is frontally titled and signed with copyright. Should you wish a different size or possibly a Giclee print (printed on a heavy watercolor paper substrate such as Arches) we may come to a reasonable pricing agreement. All measurements are from the image edges and do not include the generous griping border.
