I do a lot of musician paintings and drawings, particularly guitarists. I play guitar and have long been a fan of guitar music. This painting is loosely based on one of my favorite guitarists, Joe Satriani. I've attempted to express his intensity in playing and his apparent joy. I've played with the idea of the devil / angel on the shoulder not to represent the person, but to represent the music he creates ranging from beautiful and pure to full out rockers.
