Thank you for visiting my virtual gallery. It offers you a glimpse of my work as an artist. My overall concern is to play with images and to divert thus different modes of representation from the strait and narrow, through minor subversive operations inspired by major questions of modern art.

Seller Comments...
These stylised silhouettes are superimposed onto more or less realistic landscapes; two modes of depiction coexist in each panel and this gives rise to images of a critical nature. Only one landscape – the savannah – is the actual habitat of the animal.
The pretty postcard of the Bern Alps needs no comment, other than the fact that I see it every day. As for the birchwood, this very Polish, nearly mythic motif was immortalised, amongst others, in a short story and in a movie.
Besides, as Flaubert said once about his character Madame Bovary, “The zebra is me.” What is this poor cousin of the horse doing in Switzerland?
Two zebras have been sold long ago. The remaining one is ordered.
This work can be seen as a part of a larger one, The Animals of the Emperor 2
