Seller Comments... The name of this painting was inspired because of the association with eggs and an empty egg carton being thrown out on Good Friday 2009. The painting was developed by working the mixture of acrylics and cement then completed using two actual eggshells, an egg carton and a wire encasement. The ironic thing about this piece is that it was completed on Easter Sunday - three days after its inception! What was really surprising, was that I didn't get the total meaning behind the wire encasement until uploading it on this dart.fine-art website late Sunday. The wire encasement is representive of the womb, with its egg preparing to be delivered. Here's another revalation, if you will: The lone egg under the wire mesh could be associated with the assention of Christ, and the empty carton repsenting the twelve apostles. Think about this - why else would there be twelve compartments? And that isolated egg off to the right? That could be the day of assention, namely Easter.
