'Equivalence', © 2009: The original photo-series named 'Equivalents' utilizing cloud structures as lens subject was produced in 1923 by Alfred Stieglitz (1864-1946) and was perhaps the first influential series of photo-works that set photography on a road equated with abstract fine-arts. The primary difference between that series and this work is of course Alfred Stieglitz himself and this series of works that was absolutely groundbreaking. Oh yes, and secondly when he was making his series there were no jet aircraft. The linear man-made contrail produce a graphic equivalent to the white cloud of nature and is therefor the visual underpinning of this work. Titling of course also relate to that unforgettable series produced by what must be considered the early champion of photography as an art-form...Alfred Stieglitz.
