A woman who has lived on the street for most of her adult life (and professes to prefer it to living in a house) camped out in front of my gallery for days. Affluent shoppers avoided her (and consequently my gallery) for much of her stay. We offered her food, to which she replied: "I don't need your food...I've got money". We learned later, that she had a bank account (with a safe-deposit box) and carried a roll of money with her. Clearly she needed help, but would not accept it. This experience directed me to create this art piece, to draw attention to the homeless on our streets. "Wall Street...Main Street...Our Streets..." Where do you see yourself?
