Louise's work is in several Florida Museums and
she has won over 330 awards nationally
Signed L CHERWAK 1972
This painting by Louise has been in the family since it was given to my mother by her in the early '70s. Louise Cherwak Roseland has won over 330 awards nationally for her work until she passed away at the age of 79 on January 11, 2008. She taught classes and was on the faculty at the Vero Beach Museum, the Polk Art Museum and Brevard Art Museum in Florida. She had ties with art museums all over Florida and across the nation and has many works still on display and more in private collections. Some interesting info online about Louise Cherwak Roseland:

At one time this work got splattered with some small white flecks of interior flat house paint, it can be removed but not by me. When displayed, the flecks are noticeable, and it does bear mentioning. Other than that, the painting is in good condition and looks terrific. It is signed L CHERWAK 1972 in the lower right corner, in the same color she signed a lot of her paintings, including "Jacob Wrestling with the Angel". Paintings by Louise are rare and hard to come by, most of her work was drawing in graphite medium. Here is one of her graphite drawings called "The Survivor" which is still on display at the Polk Art Museum:

(If you click on the image you can see the entire work. It looks to be a self-portrait).
