'Notions in Opposition, or X marks the spot', © 2009: The 'SinCon' process of seeing and making have transformed the power-lines into a similar form of derectional implications (only in opposition to one another), as the steeple. Each of which have symbolic meanings, given the subject matter. The silhouette of subject refer to one of the earliest forms (pre-photography) of the lens image, that of the silhouette portraits made with camera obscura. Also implied are perhaps the most important contribution the lens image of photography has imparted to the mind-set of how the world is seen and portrayed, that of cropping and not seeing or making the image in a visually arcain totalness. Also in opposition are the stark silhouette vs the soft tonality of the sky-bound visual substrate.
