© 2009, 'Shadowed Presence': Would you have the same sense of this image should it have been entitled 'X marks the spot'? Would the symbology of color have the same impact if this full-color work was produced as a monochromatic black & white image? And how would such impact the conceptual relationships within the composition. I mention such query as a way to demonstrate the plastic (push & pull) characteristics of the photographic media, and should be part of the dialogue an author has between self and media in an effort to make the most of the proclamation that "it's completed", and the visual is released for public consumption. These ideas are germane to what the artist does, to reveal a visual narrative accounting of intentions.
