Andy Warhol "Hunts Tomato Paste Can"
This is a three-dimensional paper construction mounted onto a double-page photolithograph; when the folded sheet is opened the construction pops up. Created by Andy Warhol and published in 1967 by Black Star for Andy Warhol's Index Book, an absurd and revolutionary volume designed as "a children’s book for hipsters". Size: 10 3/4 x 16 x 4 inches (275 x 400 x 105 mm). Not signed. A classic Warhol work of Pop Art from his Factory period, at the height of the New York psychedelic scene. In good condition, although the base of the can has become detached from the sheet on one side and needs to be re-glued. Available at Affordable Art 101 Fine Prints.
