There is a great challenge with drawing white animals. I'd been thinking about the polar bear for a while, then one of my reference photos spoke to me. I added the cub and the icy background. This will be the first in a series of mother/baby drawings.

Charcoal on smooth bristol paper, 17"x14", 2009. Original is framed with a double mat and white wood frame.
