When one is about to land when flying into New Orleans, one is able to see a broad expanse of
delta wetlands that borders the city. There is an intricate pattern of land and water, where
neither element seems to dominate but instead intertwine themselves with each other. And, if
one is lucky and arriving on just the right day at just the right time, the reflections of the dusky
sunset sky will reflect back up from the water presenting a beautiful, colorful panorama.
The Delta series is the artist’s interpretation of this experience. As one progresses from Delta I
through Delta VI, it is as if one is descending towards ground and seeing this panorama from a
progressively closer viewpoint.
