This building was used for the only general store in the area. The family lived upstairs and serviced their customers on the first floor. This store is located a half mile east of the Cedar Lake gated community. Legend has it
that Caddo Jake, the recluse, would buy his coffee, sugar, flour, and other needs from this store. The bridge that bears his name is located two miles further east, across the South Canadian River.
