Anyone who has been to Broome must been to Gantheaume Point. This immensely rusty red pinnacle of land jutting into the water in flaking sandstone pretty much sums up Broome through its vast physical spectacles and high contrast colours.
It’s a funny place and my experiences and the people I met reflected the landscapes and climate, high contrast, baked by the sun, extreme, washed by the daily downpours and huge tides! My emotions were up and down like a yo yo and I was confronted with a few of the big life questions and issues on who I am and what I was doing which were brought out by the deep reds (to do symbologically with the base chakra).
At the same time, in contrast I experienced a huge amount of growth in many facets especially at dealing with crisies and emotional strength. Broome being a tropical place lush and green (for the heart) and my campsite being right in the middle of a nice grove of golden canes I was surrounded by greens and rich growth. Green and Red (contrasting colours which balance each other) complimented by the intense turquoise jade (throat chakra) for communication and creativity of the heart. What a lovely mixture for an artist!
