Red Cliffs on the way to Herald BightShark Bay, Western Australia
April 29, 2002 330 x 120 x 20 mm
Oil On Hardboard
Mounted in palm frond
$146 AUD
A view from the red inflatable used for dugong tagging on the way to Herald Bight of those dramatic eroded cliffs. The shape and contrasts of these ridged landforms amazingly reflects the physical body shape of the bay's main inhabitants the tiger sharks.
Little did we know that this smooth surfaced lightning run to Herald Bight was the calm before the 35kn blowup of the next day. Not a particularly comfortable experience on the roof of Sirenia in a wind chopped swell.
