Painting Inspiration:

Vibrance would have to be the word I have most used to describe the many varied shades of the earth and sea here in Shark Bay. The comment has often been made by the cynics and sceptics that my paintings "look a bit bright" or "artificial".

I wonder whether these are the same people that leave a sunset as soon as the golden globe hits the horizon or who travel thousands of kilometres to only sit inside their hotel room or camp by a beautiful stream or lake and sit inside watchin tellie?

Are they the kind to walk on a beach wearing shoes or do they really not see the colours, do they fail to take the time to absorb or are they somehow closed to our earths vibrance. Or do they see something totally beyond my recognition?

My depth of experience seems to reflect the colour experience I have, the longer I can sit and take it in the more richly I recall the colour vibrations in my paintings.

I understand as each of us are individuals we all see the world differently but I hope that my paintings help to widen people's colour perception and that the healing aspects of the colours still affect them subconsciously even if they consciously reject them.
