The hippocampus, the seat of dreaming in the brain, is called that because it resembles a seahorse. This piece of trivia inspired me to do a series of seahorses. They are, of course, very interesting for other reasons. They are the only species where the male gestates and bears live young. I always thought that was a good symbolism for a guy who is especially nurturing of his children.
p.s. Thetawaves are the waves that the brain emits when we are dreaming, so that is the origin of my business name, Thetawaves.
