While most views of the aspen groves show the quaking leaves, the battles of many winters and wildlife are recorded in the trunks of these special trees. The first flush of spring color in the grass truly shows the contrast of the black and white trunks and the flowers and grass. With the tree still standing, another season of growth will be recorded in the already worn tree.
