"Where the Penguins Hid"
There are certain times of year which penguins do not like.Spring and fall present them with perplexities which they find daunting. It is not the cold of winter onset or rains of summer coming that they find so unappealing, rather it is something else that they find most puzzling. For in the skies above,at these times of seasonal reorder, its is the migration of the winged kin they view with such dismay.
It isn't envy, for penguins love the ground and have no desire to circle overhead. It isn't fear, for what could come of that? It's not as if these v shaped convoys could suddenly veer down and swoop them all away.
So what does make these birds, surefooted as they are and swift beneath the waters, seek hiding places when spring and fall approach?
This question I cannot answer, for my visits to them occur, much to my misfortune, only in spring and fall, and alas, they are by then well hidden.
