This half life-size, cast bronze sculpture, depicts a ceremony performed by some of the plains Indians which the males young practice as a means and rite of passage into manhood. A turkey bone was pierced through the skin on his chest and tied to a tree using hemp, and he had to free himself from the bone by pulling away from the tree until the bone broke free from the tissue. Edition of 15.
