Oil on Canvas 36’’-48’’.

This painting was created in 2003 as a part of the series of ten original oil paintings on canvas. Three of them were paintings of city of Chicago - Windy City. The three original oil paintings are "Windy City", "Your City" and "My City". All three are done using a water color approach to better capture rainy or fogy day in downtown.

In this original oil painting streets are surrounded by buildings and cars are driving down the streets. Their tail lights are reflected on the asphalt after the rain. The fog is in the air so street lights create a bright glow in the early dusk hours. The other two original oil paintings are done in a similar way.

I've used lots of paint so in some focal points the oil paint is as much as 1/2 inches above the surface of the canvas. This creates kind of a 3D effect. To really appreciate this original oil painting on canvas just move away from your computer and look at it at about 3 - 4 feet. Same thing will happen in real life the farther you are from the painting the more clear the details are.
