Hello this lithograph was bought at a thirft shop a few years back for $5.00 with others in the box the piece is small and measures 7 1/2" wide by 7" high. I have spent hundreds of hours looking this up to no avale. The piece was at the Texas A&M university a few years back at the Picasso Project their but to no Sucess.Since I had no history on it. It is cut uneven on the right side and the top and has pencil punch marks on those sides. Also their is number's (size's) written on the backing cardboard & the 6's look like G's as in his own hand writing but not on the image itsself. And there is also ink on the glass from and I’m sure it could be tested to see if it’s the same that he used.

But the problem is that I was told that he had done piece's in the 50s to raise funds for the communist movement in south america.and to have this piece authenticated it would denounce the piece done in the 60s for the peace movement. If you notice the image is similar to the one done in the 60s but not identical Points are

1) Less detail in the base where the swords & arrow is

2) The Sun in more to the Left

3) The leaves in the Dove's mouth are not colored

4) The name is done different (the way he did it in the 50s)

If any of you art collectors have any info on this piece please send me a email me Thanks Also this is not for sale

Here is some info on the one done in the 60s

At the end of the 50s, beginning of the 60s, Pablo Picasso was commissioned to paint a number of paintings, around 24, for UNICEF under the title "FIGHT FOR PEACE". The Spanish artist painted a series of Doves of Peace, of which the present lithograph reproduces the most representative and best known of all.
