The design is such that you can see the pen collection even from across a room instead of having to be right up on it. The base is 18 1/4 x 3 1/2 x 3/4 inch thick. The glass is {1/8 inch tempered.} Both sides of the back are lined with ruby red velvet. Has 17 -24kt. gold plated round tapered pen holders placed in a straight line. These hold the pens up at 90 degrees.
Also has 1-24kt. gold plated knob for the back and 2-24kt. gold plated 3 inch piano hinges. Back is held closed by 2-10mm diameter circle magnets. The two sides and top are routed.
I apply 3 finish coats of clear marine grade polyurethane spar varnish that is impervious to most liquids including body oils and some mild acids.
