This series was very exciting to create. I had started on the blue stones, 8" x 12", just a week prior to school warming up for the semester. The first piece is the 24" x 24" black panel where I made a startling discovery that I can buff the oil paint into a very high gloss surface. I then wanted to continue the technique onto a smaller surface 8" x 13", where I concentrated heavily on the shine. This piece alone is a marvel. It polished up enough to see yourself. I created the 8" x 11" blue stone painting to complete the set.
The Stones themselves were very relaxing to create. I approached them as something that I knew would take a while but I knew how I wanted them to look so I buckled down and did the two blue stone panels.
Currently I have this displayed at home in one of my rooms. It is a large piece when you arrange them like this. None of these pieces are attached allowing you to arrange them however you would like.
