Bende Born: 5/11/1977 Raised and Resides in: Columbus, Ohio Studied Fine Arts At: Bowling Green State University Major: Drawing Minor: Photography Studied Abroad: Summer of 2000 in Florence, Italy Major: Painting "The figures I create are derived from photographs, taken by me, of local models that bring to mind memories of the past. Sometimes it’s a simple gesture, or the way the drapery is placed; many things can spark an idea for a painting. These uncompleted thoughts are sketched onto a wood panel, and then painted using thin layers of oil color. Each glaze of color allows the previous layers to shine through, along with the original drawing, so the viewer can see the entire creative process."
