Historically the nude has been the most serious of all subjects in art, so you are really starting out
with both a difficult and an important subject!
Artists have always understood the value of studying and recreating the nude--in fact
a great deal of the world's art would not exist without it!

You mentioned that you look at the female nude as "a delightful garden of softness and curves,"
and so that is exactly the way you should paint it. Do not paint the nude as you think it should look,
but rather paint the curves and shapes that you see. If you learn to paint shapes instead of painting "a nude"
you will learn to be a good artist.

Then you will br able to focus on the complexities and subtleties of the female nude.
Respect, pride and a sincere desire to show your gratitude for life will keep you
motivated to paint the female figure.
The depth of emotion the human figure can express is endless. Just as endless
are the patterns that exist all around us.
. . For me, patterns represent a desire to see unity in what often appears...
. . . ....to be a chaotic world.
