Since you asked:
* See, if you come from an upper-class family...here's the trick: tell them Art
means EVERYTHING to you and that if you don't stick with it you're sure
to end up being totally messed up in the head. (I am not asking you to lie
because I believe this is what may happen.)
* I left risd after 3 1/2 years. It was the right thing for me, but it could be
the wrong thing for you. (All my friends at risd ended up going into business
while I just kept painting. That doesn't mean anything.)
* If you leave in your 3rd year, you better have plans. Perhaps you should have a talk
with your family first--maybe not. Where do you want to paint, live, etc.
* To be successful in art you have to please yourself and the buying public. Keep experimenting;
when people start paying attention to your work then maybe that's a good sign.
* Are you 100% sure art is what you want to devote your Life to? Perhaps
something else would also 'turn you on.' Then you could do art AND that 'other thing.'*
. . . . *always keep your creative engine going...and welcome to d'Art Cafe!
